My vision without contacts is worse than 20/70. Is there any room for negotiation on still being able to test and possibly being hired with a stipulation for me to have Lasik laser eye surgery before the end of Police Academy?

Who would I need to talk to about this issue? I am really interested in testing but do not want to waste a chair at the date of the exam.

Many applicants have tested in the past who were not aware of the fact that they did not meet the vision requirements when testing. Many of them became aware of the fact during the hiring process and took corrective action. As long as the vision requirements were met by the time they took their physical exams, the applicants were eligible to be hired. If the vision requirements are not met during the physical exam, an applicant can not be hired.
